WHITE RIBBON, CHANGE THE STORY

Objectives for the campaign were:

  • Recognise Responsibility: We want everyone, especially men and boys, to understand that they have a responsibility and a
crucial role to play in ending violence against women and girls.

  • Empowerment: We aim to empower individuals by making them aware that they can take action to prevent violence against
    women and girls from occurring.

This is where our theme, #ChangeTheStory, draws its inspiration. Changing the story by intervening in some way, whether through reflection, words, or actions, can make a significant difference. Such interventions could prevent a woman from experiencing violence, harassment, or abuse.

The Illustration

The illustration for the campaign encapsulates these ideas visually. It features various elements that symbolise everyday actions and reflections that contribute to changing the narrative around violence against women and girls. From a bus station to a soccer field, each component in the illustration represents places and situations where individuals can make a difference.

  • Active Engagement: Characters in the illustration are shown engaging in activities and interactions, highlighting the importance
of active participation in the campaign.

  • Empathy and Respect: Symbols of empathy, respect, and positive actions are interwoven throughout, reinforcing the message
that everyone has a part to play.

  • Call to Action: Bold elements and slogans like "#ChangeTheStory" and "Call It Out" encourage viewers to take a stand and act
    against violence.

By integrating these visual elements, the illustration not only catches the eye but also communicates the core message of the campaign:
everyone can help change the story by stepping in and making a difference.
